Dixon
Wins Hobby Mid Season Championship
Race
Cleveland TN -- Richard
Dixon
(# 3) of Cleveland Tennessee took the checkers in Saturday
night
Hobby division Mid Season Championship feature race at
Cleveland
Speedway. The championship event was the first of the
local racing
divisions this season at the 1/3 mile dirt oval. The
25 lap feature
race went start to finish, caution free with the top
four competitors
dashing through lapped traffic. Dixon started from
the pole position
along side Ken Muse after winning the first
preliminary heat
race. Muse fell out of the top five with bad
handling problems
to finish ninth overall in the eighteen car
field. Kenny Scoggins
finished second with third going to former
Hobby champion Dirk
Carter. Rounding out the top five were; Jason
Forrester, and
defending divisional champion Doyle Herron. In other
racing action
Andy Dill (# 39) of Georgetown Tennessee won his
second Super
Late Model feature race of the season. Chris Beavers
(# 03) of
Cleveland won the Claimer Late Model after James Gamble
refused
to sell his winning power-plant. It was the first UMP Open
Wheel
Modified victory ever for (former Hobby driver) Lynn Roark
(#
L21) of Birchwood Tennessee. The Pony Stock division winner was
Tony Martin (# 35) of Madisonville Tennessee. And in the final
race
of the night the Street Stocks, Jeff King (#K1) of Cleveland
was
victorious again. Regular Racing resumes this coming weekend
May
20th for all six (6) racing divisions.
