June 24, 2000-Cleveland (TN) Speedway

The only three-peat winner in the Super Late Model (SLM) division of the Y2K season at Cleveland Speedway, Andy Dill notched in his belt his third win this season Saturday night on the new clay surface of the 1/3 mile dirt oval. "It seems there was more traction at mid track." Stated the winner in a post race interview. "We kept a hard line near the bottom cause that's where we worked best." Dill was victorious in all three stages of the SLM's event The orange # 39 "Suttles Trucking & Construction, Fine Homes" pilot set fast time in qualifying, won the first heat, and capped off the night leading flag to flag in the 30 lap "A" Main feature. Current SLM points leader David Millians ran second to Dill with Shawn Chastain, Eddie Benefield and (rookie) "Little John" Owenby rounding out the top five.

Next weekend the Cleveland Speedway SLM's must contend against the Southern All-Star, in the 23rd Annual "Stars N' Stripes Race". Kids admitted that have checkered flags will get to have a group photo taken with the winner of the event on the track in victory lane.
