Continuing (now) a season high
of his fourth Super Late Model (SLM) victory Georgetown Tennessee's
Andy Dill is still rumored throughout the TN Valley racing community
that this might be the twenty plus year veteran's final season
as a driver. Dill was victorious again in this weekends SLM event
at the 1/3 mile dirt oval of Cleveland Speedway. The , # 39 "Suttles
Trucking & Construction, Fine Homes" sponsored "Big
Orange Machine" won the first heat, and capped off the night
leading flag to flag the "A" Main feature. Dill adds
to his track championship points lead and is talking of "going
out on top of his game" in reference to possibly winning
the Y2K Cleveland Speedway Track Championship. Action throughout
the 30 lap race was hot and heavy as John Jones put on a mid
groove driving display racing through the field. Kent Hicks placed
a (three wheelin') season high second as the checkers fell. Dewayne
Smith finihsed third, with Mike Tinker and Jones rounding out
the top five.
