The big money event of this season's Cleveland Speedway's annual Fall Brawl was the Stock Heavy Shootout, a 40 "A" Main feature that paid $1,250. 00 to win. Thirty-five entries took to the track for qualifying time trials, with local racer Chris Cochran clocking a quick time lap at 17:919 seconds. A all Chris front row was made as Chris Douglas of Savannah, Tennessee clocked second quick time at 17:955. At the start of the feature Cochran rocketed into the lead and would stay there until the halfway point, when four of the top five went deep into turn one jockeying for the lead. Andy Whitten wound up in the top spot from fourth, with Brent Shelton, Barrett Terry and Cochran vying for second. Cochran charged back up to the lead by lap thirty, then Douglas started his run. As the checkers waved Douglas cruised to the victory as Shelton, Terry and Shane Evans darted down the front stretch for second (respectfully). Brad Gerrells finished fifth. Donny Thurman, Whitten, Adam Ingram, Chad Porginski, and pole sitter Cochran rounded out the top ten. The Stock Medium division saw twenty-nine entries with Douglas also taking the first place prize money worth $500. 00. Fast qualifier for the race was Gerrells who finished second, third was Shelton and rounding out the top five was Terry and Whitten.
