Davenport, Coffman, Ledford and Seaton top local portion of 15th Annual Gobbler
Jonathan Davenport made the trip from Blairsville, GA pay as the youngster scored a convincing win in the Claimer Late Model event held in conjunction with the 15th Annual Gobbler at Cleveland Speedway Saturday night.
Davenport took the lead from his outside front row starting position and held off Steve Gilbert to win the time shortened event. Barney Stiles, Nick Yancey and Steve Gainer rounded out the top five.
In Hobby action Jerry Coffman out gunned pole sitter Jim Twiggs to take the early lead and never looked back as he led all 20 laps to score the win. Twiggs would fall back to fifth and spend the next 15 laps battling back to second. Kenny Stanfield finished third, Doyle Herron fourth and Tim Ford fifth.
Scott Ledford topped the 15 car Pony field with a flag-to-flag run to take the feature win. Jimmy Brown was second leading Jon Smith, Danny Burnett and Michael Fitzgerald across the stripe in the season finale.
Jason Seaton topped the four car Street win out running Tim Parmerlee, Anthony Hawkins and Robin Baker.
