Cleveland Speedway 2008 Rules

These rules are for Drivers only and are not intended to impose any responsibility on Cleveland Speedway, Inc.
Changes from the 2007 rules - changes/additions are highlighted in blue and deletions are highlighed in green with a strike through

Cleveland Speedway, Inc. shall incur no liability to any party, whether a participant, spectator, guest or business invitee.

PONY RULES:

1. BODIES
   1. Home made bodies permitted. Must be stock appearing. Aftermarket nose panels are permitted.
   2. 1971 through 2001 models.
   3. COMPACT 4 CYLINDER CARS ONLY.
   4. Must have full floor pan and firewall and stock steel roof.
2. ENGINES
   1. Engine must be in original position (1" Tolerance)
   2. Must be factory block
   3. No rotary engines
   4. No 2500 cc engines
   5. No dual over head cams.
3. SHORT BLOCK CLAIM RULE
   1. To claim you must be on lead lap and finish in top five. Can only claim positions in front of you.
   2. To claim bottom end is $850.00 with track getting $50.00
   3. Claim does not include flywheel and clutch assembly, starter, pulleys or headers
   4. Any driver, who refuses to sell, loses all winnings and points for that night, losses his right to claim for the rest of the season and must sit out for (2) two race weeks. This means the driver and car, regardless of car being sold or whatever.
4. HEAD
   1. Steel head only. (Unless came factory with aluminum. Toyota, Nissan etc.)
   2. Aluminum head cars must add 50lbs in front of firewall
   3. Porting and Polishing allowed.
5. WEIGHTS
   1. 1lb. per cc
   2. Hydraulic head 2200 lbs. Min at anytime.
   3. Solid head 2300 lbs. At anytime
   4. Roller head 2400 lbs. At anytime
   5. It is driver's responsibility to have weight clearly displayed on left front corner of roof at ALL times. Any car with weight not displayed may be disqualified.
6. INTAKE AND CARBURETOR
   1. Any aluminum intake allowed.
   2. Single two barrel carburetor (Modifications allowed)
7. FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH
   1. Steel flywheel only 15lbs. Min
   2. Single disc clutches only
   3. Bell housing must have a min. of 2" hole in the bottom and 2" from the edge for visual inspections.
   4. If not clutch & flywheel above you must add 70 lbs.
8. ENGINE EXHAUST SYSTEM
   1. Headers permitted
   2. No turned down header pipes allowed
9. ELECTRIAL SYSTEM:
   1. Stock or dual point distributor only.
   2. Battery must be located in a safe position.
10. FUEL CELL AND FUEL - GAS ONLY
    1. Fuel cell must be in a 20 GAUGE STEEL CANISTER, with 2 inch STRAPS OR WIDER and moved into rear space and must be fastened securely in a safe manner.
    2. Fuel cells must be in all cars.
11. SHOCKS
    1. Racing shocks and wedge bolts permitted.
12. WHEEL BASE
    1. Stock for make and model
13. TIRES AND WHEELS
    1. 8 inch tire width with 1/4 variation
    2. Stock wheels RE-ENFORCED MAX 7 inch
    3. Spoke type wheels permitted. Beadlocks OK
    4. ALUMINUM WHEELS PERMITTED
    5. Hoosier RC 4
14. ROLL BARS
    1. Steel roll over bars are COMPULSORY and must be approved. ALUMINUM AND OTHER SOFT METALS NOT PERMITTED.
    2. Roll bars must be welded and must be no less than 1 1/2 inch diameter. Walls must be no less than .090 steel. No pipe fittings.
15. SEATS
    1. Approved bucket seats allowed. Seats should not be welded to frame but should be welded on parallel bars so the seat could shift with roll cage impact.
16. BRAKES
    1. Any type FOUR WHEEL DISK BRAKES allowed, except carbon fiber brakes.
17. FIREWALL
    1. FULL FIREWALL MANDATORY FRONT AND REAR
18. SPOILER
    1. 6 inch or stock spoiler, mounted in original position
    2. Triangular brace 12 inches long, no higher than spoiler.
19. REAR AXLE
    1. Stock rear end may be locked
    2. No front wheel drives
    3. No traction aiding devices. 90/10 shock, lift bar, etc.

IT IS MANDATORY THAT ALL CARS HAVE AT LEAST ONE 5 LB. FIRE EXTINGUISHER READY TO USE NO EXCEPTIONS.
